Its a 2 hour demo reel of modern vehicular mayhem. Its just weaponised cars causing carnage. Technically sci-fi, but there's no technology here that doesn't exist in the real world. If I have to pick one I'll take Rogue nation. I know that's two, but as a continuing story Christopher McQuarrie set the new stand for espionage action films and left Skyfall and Spectre in the dust. Mission Impossible Rogue Nation & Fallout IP Man fights dozens of axe weilding opponents, a deadly Muay Thai fighter, Mike Tyson himself, and a skilled Kung Fu master in this one. I picked this over part 1 (the best) because of the sheer power and variety of the combat. Some of the best modern martial arts action scenes I've ever seen, courtesy of Donnie Yen and an army of incredible opponents. The standout Nightclub scene gives part one the edge over its sequels. Not the super fan some are, but there's no denying Keanu takes the action genre to new heights of violent awesomeness with this series. You're too stupid not to have a good time. I didn't realise quite how much I love this movie, until I saw it again a year or two ago. In addition to some of those mentioned (who can argue with Die Hard and Lethal Weapon?) Im going to throw in these. Some will frown, but I find this another one I keep going back to, just because it’s bigger in scope, and leans more into the scenario, and embraces the Mom and Apple Pie nature of American Patriotism.

It would be amiss not to have Stallone featuring, but this Disaster movie is one I’ve watched time and again by choice, over and above everything else he’s done, probably just edging Cliffhanger. Yes its Die Hard on a boat, but it’s done so well, again taking everything that works and applying it to another high-concept scenario, and a peak for Steven Seagal, that unfortunately was straight down the other side for him. In it’s own way as good as the original, everything that worked before is retained, with a more complex plot, that moves with conviction, and more great action set-pieces with wisecracks. Works because it doesn’t take itself seriously and leans into the absurdities, and every aspect is amped to 120%, characters, action, technology, music, romance, dialogue, unique within itself. ever! that you should watch'īest Sci-Fi & Fantasy Movies in the World.
